The Ride

From Coeur d

In an effort to help build a new facility for the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County, five dedicated individuals are going to undertake an almost 500 mile ride from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Jasper National Park in Alberta , Canada. They are looking to raise $50,000 through sponsorships and contributions in order to fulfill their common goal.

The journey will follow Route 95 from Coeur d’Alene to the U.S./Canadian border, and continue along Highway 95 and Highway 93 until the group reaches The town of Jasper in Alberta, Canada. To help ease the challenge of the ride, the crew will at least be able to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery the Pacific Northwest has to offer. They will travel through the Kootenai National Forest, Radium Hot Springs, Lake Louise, by the Columbia Glacier, and the Banff and Jasper National Parks.

On the grueling side of things, the cyclists are going the experience elevation changes ranging from 1700 feet to 6800 feet, not to mention grades of 11%, and daily stage lengths averaging 119 miles. However to the riders, it is all worth the effort. The Boys and Girls Club is an important force in their community and their efforts will help keep it strong and healthy.
